MUKESH MILLS(MUMBAI)

Mumbai, the city that lives in eyes of the camera, snapping its busiest time to beautiful architectures and crowded lanes. But in the vicinity of this living city, there are few dead places that are remembered only for their deserted condition or for some sinister pasts, and the Mukesh Textile Mills standing on its deplorable history is undoubtedly one of them. For decades, the Mukesh Mills has earned enough fame to be considered as one of the most famous haunted places in India. The structure looks just as creepy as a dreadful ghostly appearance needs to be.

Mukesh Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd. was established in the 1870s, by Muljibhai Madhvani, who was the owner of East African Hardware Ltd. – conflicting information has it that The British East India Company had set up these mills. Mukesh Textile Mills was the only mill in South Bombay (Mumbai) at that time, and it was built on the Arabian Sea shore of Colaba. Therefore, it had a large private dock where the boats used to come unloading the bales of cotton and loading yards of finished cloth. However, this 10 acres of property was later renovated in 1975, but unfortunately went out of business within some years. It was the year of 1982, when a disastrous fire forced to shut down these mills forever, but the cause of the fire remains unexplained. Since then, they have been abandoned and untouched until a few years ago, when the film industry took interest in this eerie looking asset and started using it for shooting horror movies. Eventually, the cast and crew of these movies began to witness various paranormal activities while working within this area, and the Mukesh Mills comes in front of the big cameras to tell its own legend.Nowadays, it is heard that many actors, actresses and directors avoid shooting at the Mukesh Mills. Several unusual events such as shadowy figure, disembodied footsteps, strange sounds, feeling of being watched are said to often occur within this mills area.

One of the most famous incidents took place when a film actress was shooting at one of these mills and warned the crew members to leave the place immediately in a manly voice. She was believed to be possessed by an angry spirit, as a result, all the cast crew members packed up for that day and fled as soon as they could to never come back again at the mills. It is said that the Mukesh Mills is extremely haunted by a restless spirit of a man who always roams this deserted area.

Many even believe the ghost of the Mukesh Mills was once a mill worker who died in a tragic accident while working at one of those mills.. Once the watchman had closed the gates of the mill and was just going out when he heard some music from inside and that day there was no shoot in the premises. He even saw somebody smoking inside, but he was scared to approach and didnt go there. Next morning when he went to check out there was no one there. So these were some of the happenings told to peoples who visited the premises by the sweeper

Some have reported seeing shoes move by themselves across the floor. Others have also reported seeing an older woman wearing a traditional tuck them in at night.

The ghosts of Abby and Andrew, Lizzie’s father and stepmother, are said to still haunt the house.

Lizzie bordan

The Lizzie Borden house was erected in 1845. It was originally built for two families; however, it was later turned to a home for a single family. Andrew Borden, Lizzie’s father, bought the house because it was near the bank where he worked and the other businesses which he owned. Since the infamous murders, the house has been a private residence. It is now a bed and breakfast where people can stay in the very rooms where the murders took place. It is now called the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast.

The room with frame of lizzie bordan

There is a division when it comes to opinions regarding Lizzie Borden. Lizzie is seen as a good daughter who made it her mission to ensure that her father was as comfortable as he can be. However, there is also the side of Lizzie which is believed as the bad daughter. People say that she was a bitter woman who would say bad things about her father behind his back. It is said that she would not talk to her father for days whenever she was angry with him.
The murders took place in a hot August morning. Abby, Lizzie’s stepmother, had her head almost torn off by her shoulders. She was hit by a blunt instrument as she lay face down on the floor. According to forensics, it is very likely that she saw her attacker. It was later found that her head was crushed by 19 axe or hatchet wounds. Because of the lack of blood, it was believed that Abby died after the first blow.
Andrew Borden was believed to be relaxing in the sitting room when he was struck. His head and face were so hacked that it was difficult to recognize him. One eye had been cut in half and it protruded in a ghastly manner.
Lizzie Borden was tried for the murder of her father and stepmother but was acquitted of the crimes. Until today, there is still speculation as to what really happened and if Lizzie Borden is guilty or not.

Lee-ann wilber the proprietor of the B&B said In fact, there was a night when Wilber was too scared to sleep in the house. It was in 2004, just after she had bought the house. She had nodded off on the couch in the parlor room and awoke at 3 a.m. She peeked down into the front entryway and took in the shadows cast by a special old chandelier that was always lit; the chandelier could only turn off if someone got up on a ladder to remove the bulbs.Wilber said she made sense of all the shadows in the hallway, except for one. “And as I’m looking at it, it walked up the staircase.”As her mind started to process what she was seeing, the power in the chandelier surged for about three seconds and then everything went black. Each light bulb had burned out and went to sleep in my car.”

ST.JOHN’S CHURCH(ANDHERI,MUMBAI)

This is the story of 500 years old abandoned Portuguese church named St. John’s Baptist Church in Andheri East, Mumbai. Presently it located within the SEEPZ Industrial Area. A movie like exorcism story found here. PS Ganesan, the writer of Ghosts, Occults & Exorcists: True and Real Experiences, wrote an amazing story about a ghost once stayed for a long time in this church.

Once a hateful ghost of a young bride haunted there for a long period. She disturbed people in the vicinity of the church. Generally, many Christians visited the church on a particular day of a year. To get rid of the confined spirit an exorcism process was carried on. It was 1977. The writer described the details of that day in his experience.

“As the priest read lines from the Bible, we first heard manic laughter, and then loud wailing. The sobbing of the unknown voice finally stopped, and suddenly there was a loud splashing sound from the pond next to the church. Everything then fell silent. The next day, all the fishes in the pond were found dead and floating on the surface,”
According to the priest the ghost was of a newly married bride, who made either suicide or murdered. Her ghost remains there near about 300 years. After the exorcism she was never seen or felt in that church. After abandonment, the church fell into decay and vegetation started to take over the ruins.

THE POVEGLIA ISLAND(ITALY)

Back when the bubonic plague ate up most of the world’s population, the Romans had a idea to keep the healthy peoples away fom the people who are having the disease. The plagued people were shipped off to Poveglia Island, a small land mass that floats between Venice and Lido. There, people lived out the last of their wretched lives together until they croaked. Since the island already had a number of death, the next time an epidemic came along, barely alive bodies were dumped there and burned in mass graves.

In the 20s, a mental hospital was built to welcome the island’s newest “guests,” or anybody that showed symptoms of any sort of sickness, physical or mental.A cruel doctor ran the mental hospital and, since mental health was already ditoriated he doctor would conduct brutal experiment by shoving chisels into the brains to see what moved. The doctor eventually tumbled off the bell tower, either by his own doing or with a little shove from a few tortured souls. He survived the fall but rumor has it that some sort of mist swallowed him upon landing, effectively finishing the job.
The peoples from Ghost Adventures got all kinds of spooked on the island.

Their episode on Poveglia, where the crew stranded themselves there for 24 hours, is full of perceived curses, apparitions, creepy music, weird energy, inexplicable equipment malfunctions, and off-the-charts ghost monitors. These dudes used their best Italian to ask the ghosts pertinent questions like “are you a murderer?” and seemed to get responses from the dark abyss. Mysterious bangs, audible footsteps, disembodied voices and strange orbs are all captured on video and audio. As with most episodes of Ghost Adventures, people bashed the validity of their haunted claims.

This looks scary but most things illuminated only by the green of a night-vision camera. No one cares if you want to give yourself the willies; there are no boats that make regular stops at the island. The Italian tourism board prohibits visiting the island (on paper) and requires a lengthy application process, where you must obtain approval, before you can step your trembling foot onto the human ash-covered land. But as with most things, for the right price (about 200 euros), you can hire a dude to float you over there, no approval necessary.

THE AOKIGAHARA FOREST

Also known as the Sea of Trees, the forest’s seclusion is believed to be one of the reasons so many choose it. Each year, authorities remove dozens of bodies – but others lie undiscovered for years.

The Aokigahara forest is known as ‘sea of forest’due to its dense population of trees which even don’t let the sunrays touch the ground of the forest. It is widely known as the haunted forest due to the spirits present in the forest. The forest has recorded the highest number of suicides in the recent years.Peoples there believe that certain hallucinations about their sadness and anger appear and they commit suicides.

Often people who enter the forest tie strings so that they can follow a path and even sometimes the rescuers use these strings to lead a path to the dead bodies.a very high number of Yūrei — ghosts who suffered a violent and unnatural death; as well as demons. People often report hearing bloodcurdling, unnatural screams while wandering the forest, said to be made by the Yūrei. The density of the tree growth prevents wind from penetrating the canopy and flowing throw the forest.

This gives Aokigahara an eerie stillness and quiet, that hikers have described as almost complete silence. The environment is unnaturally still. It also means cries can be heard from long distances – hence the source of stories about the forest being haunted with ghosts. workers must carry the bodies down from the forest to the local police station, where the bodies are put in a special room used specifically to house bodies from suicides.

The forest workers then play jan-ken-pon (rock, paper, scissors) to see who has to sleep in the room with the corpse overnight until it’s picked up the next day. This is part of a ritual so that the spirit of the deceased is not left alone.A movie named’THE FOREST’ also was based on the aokigahara forest and its hallucinations and haunting. Some scientists believe that its the chemical combination of the forest and its density which causes various hallucinations.

It has various signs at the entrance which reads.’Your life is a precious gift from your parents. Please think about your parents, siblings and children. Don’t keep it to yourself. Talk about your troubles. Also various boards display the people to not end the life and think about family.
